The brand mission of “Meoto” is to create cherished moments and memories for couples, bringing happiness to both partners.
As time goes by and couples spend more time together, there are inevitably moments when they start to take each other’s presence for granted. “Meoto” aims to provide opportunities for couples to rediscover and appreciate the importance of their relationship.
For example, a set of matching kitchen knives for cooking together, or a pair of bento boxes to enjoy a meal side by side. Our new products include matching beer mugs, slippers, and umbrellas. “Meoto” adds a touch of color to every aspect of a couple’s lifestyle.
These items also make thoughtful gifts for special occasions like wedding anniversaries, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, housewarmings, milestone birthdays, or weddings — perfect for celebrating those precious moments shared by two.
The thoughts and vision that producer Nakagawa has infused into “Meoto”
I believe that while “fulfillment” and “success” may be found outside the home, true “happiness” resides within the family.
Fifteen years ago, I got married to my wife in Tokyo, and then brought her to Sanjo City, Niigata, a place with no prior connections to us. Since my family runs a business here, my wife has had to endure challenges that aren’t common in a typical household.
In particular, during the first few years after I started my company, I would come home late every night. I have almost no memories of helping raise our second child, who was born around the same time as the business was launched. Additionally, from the spring of 2017 to around 2021, I suffered from bipolar disorder after experiencing depression, and there were many days when I couldn’t get out of bed. During that difficult time, my wife managed both the company’s accounting and the care of our three children without ever losing her composure.
Given all the burdens I’ve placed on my wife over the years, I have made it my mission to create products that will, at the very least, bring her joy. This sentiment is at the core of our brand and product development at “Meoto.”

Art Director & Designer
Product development typically leverages the strengths and resources that a brand or manufacturer already possesses, making the process relatively straightforward. However, with “Meoto”, the driving force behind development isn’t technical expertise or know-how, but rather the passion of its CEO. This makes the development process both challenging (in a fun way!) and uniquely interesting.
It’s a form shaped by emotion. A form shaped by relationships. We hope you enjoy the richly diverse lineup, which naturally captures the everyday life of couples through visual expressions that emerge from their shared experiences.
